Safety Harbor Montessori Academy uses G-Suite for Education, which is a set of online applications to allow for content creation, storage of documents, communication, and collaboration. Learn more about G-Suite for Education.
This should be your "Home Base" for online learning. All classroom assignments, links to online lessons and meetings, and other coursework can be found here.

Any documents provided to you or shared with you by teachers can be found in your child's Drive account. It can also be used to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
Frequently ASked Questions
1. What is my child's SHMA Google account?
SHMA has provided all students with a G-Suite for Education account. This account has a user ID consisting of, in almost all cases, the first initial of the child's first name and then last name followed by @shma.us, with no spaces. For example, if a child's name is Susie Thompson, her account ID would be email@example.com. The password for all accounts needs to be set by the account owner upon the first log-in.
2. What if I forgot my password?
To have your password reset, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
3. Where do I sign-in?
There are multiple avenues to sign-in, but we suggest going to Google Classroom at https://classroom.google.com, and signing in. Google Classroom is the "home base" for your virtual classroom.
4. I am logged into Google Classroom but can't see my child's class. Why is this?
Please make sure you are logged in to your child's SHMA Google account. Only valid users within the SHMA domain can access Google Classroom. If you are logged in with a personal Gmail account or any account other than your child's SHMA Google account, you will not be able to access Google Classroom.
5. How do I access my child's online lesson or meeting?
Go to https://meet.google.com, and click "Join or Start a Meeting." Then enter the meeting code that was provided to you.
6. I cannot join an online lesson or meeting. Why is this?
Reason #1: You are not logged into your child's SHMA Google account. For security purposes, only valid users within the SHMA domain may access our online meetings. Double check that you are not logged in with your personal Gmail account or any other account other than your child's SHMA Google account.
Reason #2: You are attempting to join the meeting early, before a SHMA staff member has opened the meeting. If you are sure you are logged in properly, and still can't join the meeting, please wait a few minutes until the meeting has been opened by a SHMA staff member.
7. Can I join online lessons and meetings from a mobile device?
Yes, the Google Meet app is available to download in the Apple AppStore and from Google Play.
8. Why can't I access Gmail with my child's SHMA account?
Gmail has been turned off for all students, with the exception of middle school students. Although your child's user ID is an email address, you won't be able to access Gmail with it.
