With safety as our guide, we have been learning and figuring out how to proceed, while putting the best interests of your children at the center of every decision. Maria Montessori understood the need for individualized education. During this time, we will consider the needs of each student’s family as well. With our commitment to safety and meeting individual needs, we understand we may need to deliver lessons, come together, share, and celebrate differently this year.
We have continued to develop the strategies that worked well during the time we needed to close and will implement ideas that will allow us to more seamlessly crossover from in-person to online learning for safety and to give families more choices. When the school year begins, you will have the choice about whether to have your students attend school in-person or through online services. This plan is flexible. Students’ places will be held in their classrooms even if parents choose to begin with online learning. We will send out a survey to get an idea of how your family would like to begin in the very near future.
In the classrooms, we will have smaller group sizes and higher safety standards, including more frequent and thorough cleaning schedules and limited commingling of groups. We will carry the safety procedures we are using in make-up days and camp over to the school year.
We are working on a webpage that will share more details. We hope to share this with you by the end of next week. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your extended family through all of this.
